She cracks slowly at first, the sound not even noticable. It takes time for the fissures to wind up her cold, porcelain skin; spidering out as her wide eyes take notice. She goes to speak and her jaw locks open, unable to close no matter how hard she tries. Her glassy stare moves back towards you as all you can do is watch.
The bow on her head sits pretty and perfect, undisturbed by the crumbling mass she has become. You suppose the soul became too much for her, too powerful to be encased in a man-made body.
Her beauty is one of the past, of glamorous opulence and finery; days only in memories of those fading themselves. You want to help her, to put her back together; but you've waited too long and she slips through your fingers; only fragments of her in the dust you now breathe.
